Gluten-Free, and Happier

In our January story “Goodbye Gluten,” we explored how the protein gluten and other wheat components can harm health. We asked readers on our blog at www.energytimes.com and on Facebook whether they have given up gluten; here are some responses.

I have been gluten-free for almost three years now. It is really a blessing. It has caused me to eat a healthy diet. I am very thankful I found this out when I did.
Leigh Ann, blog response

I feel so much better since going off gluten. I’ve seen an improvement in my six-year-old son’s digestive woes since taking him off of gluten as well. There are lots of gluten-free products available now, so it wasn’t that difficult. The biggest problem is getting other people to understand and/or respect the decision.

My Ayurvedic practitioner suggested I go off gluten six months ago. I have my energy back! I don’t do it 100%, but it is really hard to avoid everything unless you are a hermit. Lost 10 pounds right away too.

Another Campbell Fan

We continue to receive responses to “Glen Campbell: The Last Ride” (October 2011), which profiled the musician as he fights Alzheimer’s disease.

I would like to thank Allan Richter for the wonderful article on Glen Campbell. I’ve long been an admirer of Glen Campbell but this is another dimension entirely. To me his story is poignant and incredibly moving, and your article taught me much more than I already knew.

I am so incredibly impressed with not only Mr. Campbell’s artistry but his exceptional family as well. Good luck, Glen—the world loves you!
