Alzheimer's Woes September 03. 2008
In our September Processing Your Brain Issue, we talked with Grammy winner Kathy Mattea about her mother’s battle against Alzheimer’s disease, and what steps Mattea is taking against the possibility of developing the disease herself. We also met a young woman, Emily Balfour of Georgia, whose family is lovingly dealing with her father’s diagnosis. Currently 5 million Americans are suffering from Alzheimer’s, which means many more families have their own stories to tell.
What about you? Has your family been touched by Alzheimer’s disease? How have you coped, and what is it about this experience that you would want to share with others? Let us hear your story!

In an age when conventional medicine has become as much a commodity as a healing art, it isn’t surprising that people are searching for ways to maintain their well-being naturally.
What about you? Have you used, or are you currently using, herbal medicine to deal with a specific disorder? Are you going the self-help route, or are you under an herbalist’s (or other trained professional’s) care? Are you using herbs in combination with either conventional medical treatments (surgery, etc.) or other alternative health practices? Let us hear your story!
